Examination Management Regulations

Policy Basis

This page is compiled from the "Qingdao University Examination Management Regulations" (Document No. QDU-Jiao [2014] 25), effective from the fall semester of 2014. If there are any changes, please refer to the latest documents from the Academic Affairs Office.

Grade Composition

  • Course overall grade = Regular assessment (midterm, class discussions, quizzes, experiments, assignments, papers, attendance, etc.) + Final exam grade; generally, regular assessment accounts for 20% and the final exam for 80%
  • Teaching units may adjust the grade assessment ratio based on actual course conditions, subject to filing with the Academic Affairs Office before implementation
  • All course assessments use a 100-point scale; 60 points or above is required to earn credits

Violations and Absence from Exams

  • If a student violates exam rules, cheats, or is absent from an exam, the exam paper score is recorded as zero, and this is noted on the official grade report
  • Arriving more than 15 minutes late prohibits participation in the exam; the course is treated as an absence
  • 30 minutes after the exam begins, students may leave the exam room only with the proctor's permission

Exam Room Rules

  • Arrive 15 minutes early with valid identification, sit in the designated seat, and place your ID on the desk for verification
  • Those who have lost their identification must have their department issue a written certificate (with photo, counselor's signature, and department seal); otherwise, they cannot take the exam
  • Books, notes, scratch paper,垫物, calculators, mobile phones, and other communication devices are not permitted in the exam room (unless the exam has special provisions)
  • If the above items are found on your desk, in your desk compartment, or within arm's reach after the exam begins, they will all be treated as violations
  • Answer sheets must be written in blue or black ink pen or fountain pen; answer sheets are filled in with 2B pencil
  • During the exam, you may not borrow stationery from others without permission; answer sheets and answer paper must not be placed on neighboring desks
  • Peeking, whispering, exchanging secret signals or gestures are strictly prohibited
  • After the exam end signal, you must immediately stop writing; exam papers and scratch paper are placed face-down on the desk and must not be taken out of the exam room
  • Those who submit their papers early must not linger near the exam room or make noise

Grade Review

After grades are announced, if a review is needed, you must fill out the "Qingdao University Grade Review Application Form" for approval by the course unit:

Time Item
Week 1 Grade review period: Two or more peer experts review; if errors are confirmed, corrections are made on the exam paper with signatures
Week 2 Grade correction period: Grades are corrected, and the grading teacher, student, and student's department are notified
Week 3 Grade archiving period: The teaching secretary completes grade archiving through the integrated academic affairs system

Makeup exam grades must have review applications submitted within one week of grade announcement, following the above procedure.
